'Back Seat'. Pittsburg Courier, 1958.

Robert Earl Sawyer studied English and Drama at New York University, majoring in creative writing. He won the highest award for writing in his class and he published many short stories and sold several romantic love stories.

His first short story 'Back Seat' was acclaimed the most dramatic of the year.

Two additional years of study were spent at the La Jos Egri School of writing Psychology where attended at the same time as Ira Levin.
